LOCATION:
1664 Cedar Lane is located in the Shady Side area of Anne Arundel County. Shady Side is a small community positioned on a peninsula with frontage on several bodies of water, including the Chesapeake Bay, West River, Parish Creek and South Creek. That water oriented geography has helped foster the community’s rich maritime history going back to the 1790’s. Marinas, boat and yacht clubs, community piers, waterfront restaurants and bars, and a collection of waterfront parks line the edges of the community. A variety of other businesses and conveniences are located along Shady Side Road and Snug Harbor Road. Shady Side is about 40 miles from the center of Washington, D.C., 47 miles from the center of Baltimore and 21 miles from Annapolis (shorter by boat). According to the Anne Arundel County Public Schools locator function, nearby schools are Shady Side Elementary, Southern Middle and High.
The property fronts on the Chesapeake Bay, with excellent views of the private beach, marshes, and, of course, the world famous estuary itself. With only a few homes in the surrounding area, the property fosters good privacy coupled with nice access via car or boat to a variety of conveniences and entertainment. The auction affords an opportunity to purchase a waterfront property with ample space and excellent potential for simple improvements or comprehensive redevelopment.
